If you have already decided to raise chickens at your backyards, it is time to consider what type of chicken coops would best fit into your urban environment. Hence, today I would like to help you to decide between the fix chicken coops type and the portable or movable chicken coops type.
I prefer to have the portable or movable chicken coops because it is so versatile that I can move the chickens in the backyard from place to place. This way my chickens would have fresh grass and be more healthy. So what is the main difference between the standard or fix chicken coops design and portable chicken coops? read below.
Difference between fix and portable chicken coops
The main difference between the standard chicken coops and portable chicken coops is the space needed. For the standard chicken coops, you will need a bigger space where there is enough sunshine and cool enough during summer. The fix type of chicken coops require more maintenance and cleaning regularly. On the other hand, the portable chicken coops could be moved to another location within minutes and hence easy to maintain and low in cost. Furthermore, the portable chicken coops allow your chicken to have fresh grass to eat and hence be more healthy.
So are portable chicken coops right for you?
If you answer yes to anyone of the following criteria, I would say portable chicken coops are right for you:
•You plan to own just between 2 to 4 chickens at a time.
•You want a low maintenance coop that doesn’t require much clean up.
•You want to move the chicken house to a new area if desired
•You want to supplement some of the cost of chicken feed and stretch your dollars further by allowing the chickens to eat fresh grass.
